Yoga Journey is run by Lesley Isaacson who has built up a vast experience in over 25 years’ yoga teaching. Lesley’s own personal yoga journey has involved teacher training with the British Wheel of Yoga, extensive work over many years with a senior Iyengar teacher, as well as training, workshops and serious study with teachers trained in the Krishnamacharya tradition, both in the UK and India. Her unique style is to fuse these disciplines together in an eclectic approach, so that students can work at their own personal border. Lesley seeks to balance, in any one practice, asana contrasted with stillness both within the asana and in pranayama and meditation. She believes that a focussed, disciplined asana practice can be experienced, hand in hand, with mental stillness and subtlety of breath so that the student’s whole being is involved. Each practice aims to explore freedom within asana and freedom from asana. Lesley hopes to share with students the breadth and joy of yoga, through asana, pranayama, meditation, chanting and silence, as a tool for personal development and self transformation. Lesley is a teacher trainer for the British Wheel of Yoga (www.bwy.org.uk) and is the current Chair of the Education Committee. She infuses her lessons with her joie de vivre, enthusiasm and sense of humour. Lesley’s spiritual development has been nourished by the practice and teaching of homeopathy for nearly 20 years as well as Buddhist meditation. A deep-felt understanding of what constitutes true health and the relationship of the individual to the universe forms the bedrock of both her yoga and homeopathic philosophies. She studies extensively with Joseph Reves, one of the 21st century homeopathy masters and is on the register of the Society of Homeopaths and the International Society for Homeopathy (UK). |
